Hawaii Excel wrestling summer camp was hosted by Konawaena High from June 21-22, featuring wrestlers from Kamehameha-Hawaii (Charles Aina III, Troy Gibson), Waiakea (Allan Ikehara, Tanalei Louis), Kona (Warren Buenavista, Justin Raymond, Conrad Hildebrand, Jarry Southerland). The coaching staff consisted of Konawaena coach Merrick Nishimoto; Steve Knight, U.S. Pan American gold medalist; Evan Knight, two-time Iowa State champion and current Cornell University wrestler; Anthony Robles, 2011 NCAA 125-pound national champion; and JP O’Connor, 2009 NCAA 149-pound national champion and current Harvard assistant coach.
